Who is responsible?
What are the financial obligations of your family and bridal party?
Each culture is different so be sure to do your research to honor your traditions. This information is based on a traditional Canadian Wedding. If your parents are paying the tab it is even more important to give them a responsibility card to clearly define their roles so you both feel comfortable when making your wedding planning decisions. These days it more common that the Bride and Groom are paying for their own wedding. If your family or friends want to help, allow them, it makes them feel good and involved your special day.
We recommend printing out each responsibility card and going through the cards in detail. This is also good to do while you are determining your actual total wedding budget. The cards include individual advice, pre-wedding check list and their duties for the day of the wedding. There is plenty of room to write notes. If you do not have a printer save the file or forward to someone who does. Each person in your wedding wants to know what their duties are. If they don't it could lead to many headaches. Communication is key for the success of your wedding. #1 Rule - One must never assume! What is common sense to you may not be for others.
